Week 28

Happy June! Wait, its mid-June? Elle will be here in 2 1/2 months! We better finish these home improvement projects! We have been so busy and still loving every moment of pregnancy. We visited Paso Robles for a wedding at a beautiful winery... too bad Elle and I had to enjoy a glass of lemonade while overlooking the divine vineyards! I did bring a bottle of dealcoholized champagne with me and shared it with the two other pregnant women at the wedding, though. We had fun pretending :) I included a picture of us at the wedding below, I actually found a dress to accomodate this giant baby in my belly! We also enjoyed our Mother's Day with Doug's grandma from Santa Barbara. I was showered with Mother's Day Gifts, which although completely premature, were so appreciated! Well, love you all and hope to see you soon!

Week 24

Greetings! Well, our little family has been quite busy. Elle insisted that we paint the entire house a lighter tan color so she has fresh paint upon arrival. Of course we complied and Grandma & Grandpa Guin hosted us during the day while Doug worked and the fumes subsided. Doug is already learning what its like to sacrifice for your baby.... see pictures below... this has been Doug's life over the past few weeks. Ceiling scraping, texturing, priming and painting almost every room in the house. It feels like we are living in a mental institution. We have been living out of our bedroom with a little cooler, too funny. However, the plastic comes off tomorrow after work - hooray! Next project is moving the washer/dryer upstairs and then to the fun stuff.... Elle's room. She really needs her own space, her clothes are taking over my closet already! Lastly, happy birthday to Doug! Sunday was his birthday and Elle thought it would be appropriate to fulfill a longtime dream of his by purchasing a kiteboarding lesson for him. Have fun, Doug and most of all, be safe - you've got a little lady on the way!

Week 21

Happy Friday from Elle! Our little lady must really love Fridays - she was excitedly kicking and elbowing me all day at work :) Its been a couple weeks since our last post, we've both been super busy with work, and a dental emergency for poor Doug. Things have settled a bit though and we are enjoying every moment of pregnancy. Can you believe the growth of my belly between our last post and now? The doctor said Elle was almost 1 pound at 20 weeks and that is a big, big baby! For the ladies, I've picked out Elle's bedding and room design. Her colors are light pink with black and white damask patterns. We even found an economical crystal chandelier with pink shades - too fun! Now we just need an awesome light pink shag rug and we are on our way! Hugs and love to you all.... Doug, Erin & Elle

ELLE PEDERSEN

Week 18 / 19

And you all thought this blog couldn't get any "pink-er"... the pink is in celebration of the news we received Wednesday, little Pedersen is a GIRL! Doug and I are so delighted to welcome little Elle Pedersen September 1, 2009! I am also relieved that I don't have to return the few items I've purchased, all of which are for girls, of course. As we take this picture we are ending Week 18 and starting Week 19. Dressing a baby bump is super fun and (other than frequent headaches) I am feeling fabulous! We are loving being pregnant and are super busy with home improvement projects, Elle has very high standards for her new home apparently.

Week 17

Tylenol, rest and lots and lots of liquids... I've had a terrible cold/flu and feel so sorry for little baby Pedersen! My throat was extremely sore, fever (not above 101 degrees though, thankfully!), achy, congested, tired, etc. Daddy took super great care of us, even driving to another part of town to get us a jamba juice with immunity booster. I spent 5 full days in bed. I read online that I will develop antibodies to this strain and pass those onto the baby so she won't get this - here's to hoping because its a rough one. Now I'm left with an icky head cold and all the loveliness that accompanies that stage. However, we are officially on the mend and I anticipate we'll be 100% by Friday. The belly is really growing now, so exciting. Love & hugs to all...

Week 15 (one day from Week 16)

Happy St. Patrick's Month! Cheers! Our little part Irish baby danced along with me to Daddy's band "The Fooks" for 4 straight hours last night at The Harp in Ocean Beach. We got quite a workout! Also, the band was kind enough to play for free beer at my favorite organization, The Irish American Bar Association's St. Patty's Day Happy Hour on Thursday. The Fooks will be playing on the Fox Morning News here in San Diego tomorrow and on the blessed day itself they are playing the ShamRock in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter. Our lives have revolved around the band these last few weeks, and needless to say, the baby is looking forward to the band-free weeks ahead (not me of course, I'm incredibly supportive). Anyway, the belly is continuing to grow as pictured below, love and hugs to all!
